Switzerland announce Euro 2024 squad
Arsenal skipper Xhaka to captain the side
Squad includes players with extensive tournament experience
Switzerland have finalised their squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament. The squad was announced on Wednesday by manager Murat Yakin and includes Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, who will captain the side in Qatar.
About half of the squad have played in at least three finals, including Xhaka. The midfielder has played down talk of clashes between players and head coach Yakin, saying that the team is "fully behind" the manager.
Switzerland are in Group A for the tournament, alongside hosts Qatar, Ecuador and Senegal. They will begin their campaign on November 21st against Cameroon.
